Laparoscopic excision of simple giant retroperitoneal pseudocyst: case report
نویسندگان
چکیده
Primary retroperitoneal pseudocysts are rare entities. Though laparoscopic approach has been described in their treatment, open surgical excision is still the mainstay of treatment for these lesions. We present a case of giant retroperitoneal pseudocyst and its successful laparoscopic excision. The patient was a 27-year old female. Contrast enhanced CT scan of the abdomen and ultrasonography confirmed a large retroperitoneal cyst. Laparoscopic resection was accomplished after puncturing and decompressing the cyst. There were no complications or conversion. The operation time was 123 minutes. The patient was discharged 3 days after surgery. Histopathology revealed a pseudocyst. Retroperitoneal pseudocysts can be resected laparoscopically with careful and meticulous laparoscopic dissection, utilizing the advantages of laparoscopy.

We present the case of a 70-year-old man with a giant right-sided retroperitoneal pseudocyst, confirmed histologically after resection to be benign with appearances dissimilar to pancreatic and adrenal tissue. The cyst was noted incidentally on table at the time of laparoscopic surgery. Retroperitoneal pseudocysts most commonly arise from the pancreas and adrenal glands occurring as a result of...

Amild anemia was the only abnormal associated finding. Abdominal ultrasound a...
متن کاملGiant Adrenal Pseudocyst Treated Laparoscopically; Case Report and Review of the Literature
We report a case of a giant adrenal pseudocyst, found incidentally in a 45 year old female. Her CT scan showed a 7.5cm x 7.3cm suprarenal mass and she underwent a laparoscopic transperitoneal adrenalectomy. We report this case and review the literature regarding the diagnosis and management of adrenal pseudocysts.
متن کاملSpontaneous Rupture and Hemorrhage of Adrenal Pseudocyst Presenting With Acute Abdomen and Shock
Adrenal gland pseudocysts are not common conditions, and most of them are nonfunctional and asymptomatic. However, large pseudocysts may causes abdominal discomfort and have compressive effects on adjacent organs. They may rupture spontaneously or after trauma, and lead to retroperitoneal hemorrhage and surgical emergency. Herein, we report a case of 21-year-old female who presented with acute ...
متن کاملLaparoscopic Fenestration of a Giant Pseudocyst after Totally Extra Peritoneal Inguinal Hernia Repair
A giant pseudocyst is a rare complication after hernioplasty and is seldom seen. The pathophysiology is unclear; it characteristically does not contain epithelial lining and can be considered giant if the diameter exceeds 10 cm. Pseudocysts are mostly described after incisional hernia repairs and are usually treated with surgical resection. We report a case of a giant pseudocyst three years aft...
